Tribute Book
"Tribute" Book Available
Due to popular demand, we are making copies of the special "Tribute" book that was published exclusively for guests of the Gabby Awards at Ellis Island available for broad distribution. Anyone making a minimum $100 tax-deductible contribution to the Greek America Foundation’s scholarship endowment fund will receive a single copy of the book.
The book-- a 200-page keepsake-- is a treasure trove of photographs, heirloom images, statistics and interesting stories about pioneer immigrants. Many of the stories were written by family members themselves and include family photos, immigration documents and other keepsake items that make the book a must-have for any Greek American home.
In addition to the family tributes, the book includes several articles pertaining to early Greek immigration to America, including stories about picture brides who came to this country with only a photograph of their prospective husbands, fascinating glimpses of the early Greeks of Chicago, New York City, Tarpon Springs and other cities and interesting stories about "famous" immigrants like Hollywood legend Elia Kazan, Ice Cream magnate Tom Carvel and former San Francisco mayor George Christopher.
To obtain your copy of “Tribute”, make a minimum $100 donation to the Greek America Foundation’s scholarship endowment fund. Your support will go a long way to help young people come closer to their ancestral heritage by studying abroad in Greece.
